Substance Abuse
ASL Interpreter services are arranged and available for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. Specific language interpreting accommodations are reviewed and assessed on an individual basis.

Outpatient Treatment Services
Outpatient Treatment can consist of a variety of services including Assessment, Education, Individual, Group and Family Therapy as well as DUI Services. Dual Disorder Services are also offered for people diagnosed with both Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders. Referrals can also be made to Vocational Services and Self Help Groups.
Outpatient Treatment Services
Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP)
Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP) are available for adults18 years of age and older who have chemical dependency, abuse or dual diagnosis (chemical abuse/dependency coupled with severe mental illness). Contracts with Legal Entities for IOP Services: A contract exists between the Administrative Office of the Courts and Cumberland River to provide Intensive Outpatient Services based on medical necessity. Depending on the progress of the individual, the program can last for 6 months. Participants in Drug Court services must meet all criteria established for other outpatient Substance Abuse clients. A contract between the Department of Corrections and Cumberland River to provide Intensive Outpatient Services to consumers in each of the counties of the region. Depending on the progress of the individual, the program can last for 6 months. Participants in IOP services must meet all criteria established for other outpatient Substance Abuse clients.
DUI Services
Cumberland River Behavioral Health is licensed by DBHDID as a Provider of DUI Services. CRBH Has Certified DUI Assessors available in each county in our region.
Upon completion of the Kentucky DUI Assessment Instrument, the Assessor will make a referral to the most appropriate level of care appropriate for the client’s needs. This can include 20 Hour Education, outpatient, Intensive Outpatient and Residential Services.
DUI Services ensure that those who have been convicted of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants have an opportunity to achieve their highest potential for living satisfying, productive and valued lives through effective, efficient and up-to-date substance abuse education and treatment services.

Mike’s Message is an adult substance use crisis unit in which multiple services are provided to persons in substance use crisis.

Independence House
Crossroads
Crossroads is a residential alcohol/drug treatment program for males. Crossroads provides services based on a continuum of care developed specifically for chemically dependent men. Crossroads Transitional Living Program provides housing for up to six (6) months for eight (8) male substance use clients. In addition to housing, the program provides meals, individual and group counseling and a comfortable, home-like atmosphere to enhance opportunities for individuals to maximize recovery.
Located in London, KY. and primary serves our eight-county area. However, referrals are accepted statewide. Transitional living services are available to those in need of additional treatment at the completion of the thirty days. This program is based on the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, and NA/AA meetings are in-house. “Self-Pay clients are required to pay a $400.00 deposit upon admission.” *Out of state referrals are expected to pay full fee. Referrals are accepted 24 hours/day.
Cumberland River RHOAR Center
The program model is based on the highly successful and time proven Recovery Kentucky, with a strong emphasis on building core life skills, providing clinical services and helping with the agonies of withdrawal from opiods and other synthetics, enhancing education and creating employment pathways for the residents.
Key goals of the program include addiction recovery, education, employment, community integration, family reunification and preparing women to be self-sufficient when they return to the community.
Cumberland Hope Community, LLC
Cumberland Hope Community, LLC is a long term (up to 18 months), peer driven recovery program for women. Individuals at Cumberland Hope are given an opportunity to work on areas of their lives including family, legal, financial, education and employment.
The Regional Prevention Center (RPC)
The Regional Prevention Center (RPC) is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) prevention program that collaborates with individuals and communities in an effort to reduce risk factors that contribute to alcohol, tobacco and other drug misuse. RPC assists community members, leaders and groups in coming together to discuss their community’s strengths and needs to develop a comprehensive prevention plan.
KY Moms
The KY Moms program welcomes all pregnant and postpartum women (within two months of delivery), to workshops held locally. These workshops provide and share information such as avoiding hazards while pregnant, depression (during and after pregnancy), unhealthy relationships and the effects of substance use/abuse. Participants receive support, encouragement, community resources, education and referrals to other services, if needed.
